Our dear friend Chad Ochocinco asked a question on Twitter Wednesday after learning of the latest Carson Palmer report.
“I wonder if i can play QB next year, throw the ball to my damn self,” Ochocinco said.
That could be tough to pull off, but Ochocinco could catch passes from a member of Palmer’s family this offseason if he wanted. Bengals.com’s Geoff Hobson notes that Jordan Palmer plans to meet with his receivers later this month or next month.
The younger Palmer, who is a restricted free agent, has talked to Jerome Simpson, Jordan Shipley, Bernard Scott, and Cedric Benson. While he won’t comment on his brother’s situation, the Bengals presumptive backup says he’s spoken to new Bengals coordinator Jay Gruden about his plans for the new offense in Cincinnati.
“No matter what happens with the lockout, we’ll be throwing,” Jordan Palmer said.
Palmer’s energy and leadership are laudable. But Bengals fans surely hope Jordan Palmer isn’t the one throwing to Cincy’s young receivers when actual games start.
