The Texans are making the most of the final day of the league year.
Houston re-signed running back Derrick Ward to a one-year contract on Thursday, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. News of the agreement comes soon after news that tight end Owen Daniels has also returned to the club on a four-year deal.
Ward revived his career in Houston with a 6.3 yards-per-carry average last season. The Texans will bring back Arian Foster, Ward, and Steve Slaton to their backfield next year.
Their offense is in great shape to stay among the league’s top ten in yards and points. Now they just need Wade Phillips to fix he defense.
