At a time when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are sensitive to the perception that they cut corners on character when it comes to acquiring players, a member of the front office has joined the parade of personnel who have found trouble.

Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times reports that Bucs coordinator of pro scouting Shelton Quarles was arrested for DUI early Friday. He refused to submit to testing, and as of 6:00 a.m. ET he remained in jail.

Quarles, 39, spent all 10 seasons of his NFL career in Tampa. He was named to the Pro Bowl team in 2002, the same year the Bucs won their only NFL title.

UPDATE: Team spokesman Jonathan Grella tells PFT that the Buccaneers are aware of the arrest and are reviewing it.
