Ravens offensive line coach Moeller found guilty of DUI

A. Moeller

Ravens offensive line coach Andy Moeller was sentenced to two years of supervised probation after being found guilty of driving under the influence on Monday.

Moeller served two days at a lockdown treatment facility, but the rest of a 60-day jail sentence was suspended, according to Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun.

Moeller was arrested back in September, his third alcohol-related arrest since 2007. His father essentially lost his job as the head coach at Michigan because of an alcohol-related incident.

Owner Steve Biscotti says the younger Moeller is on his “last chance” with the Ravens and likely with the NFL. With that said, the team recently promoted him to offensive line coach from assistant offensive line coach.

Since the arrest, Moeller has attended 52 self-help meetings and passed 23 random alcohol tests. He’s not allowed to drink as part of his probation.

“I understand the seriousness of the charges and take responsibility,” Moeller said prior to getting his sentence. “I will never put myself in this position again.”

It seems very likely that the NFL will suspend Moeller after the lockout.
