Buffalo announced the firing of Tom Modrack Wednesday after he served the team for 10 years, having a big say in personnel.
Hired in 2001, Modrak’s title changed from Director of Football Operations to Assistant General Manager to his most recent title as Director of College Scouting, which he held since 2007. He’s been in the NFL 34 years.
“This is the time of year when we evaluate every element of our football operation and with the Draft now completed, we have decided to reorganize our personnel department,” said Bills G.M. Buddy Nix.
The timing of the move is a bit of a surprise, if only because Nix chose to keep Modrak a year ago when he took the job. Modrak worked for the Steelers for a long time before working as the Director of Football Operations for the Eagles from 1998-2001.
