At a time when Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall has angered plenty of football fans with controversial remarks regarding the killing of Osama bin Laden and 9/11, the guy who plays quarterback for the team located on the opposite side of the Keystone State had a much different perspective on the situation.

“It was about time,” Vick told 102.1 FM and 1490 AM The Game in Virginia Beach. “What he so-called did to our people, took so many innocent lives. Hey, he deserved every bit of it.”

People can agree with Vick, and they can disagree with Vick. Ditto for Mendenhall. The reality is that Vick’s comments mesh far more closely with popular opinion than Mendenhall’s, which means that, while Mendenhall was chastised for his views, there’s a good chance Vick will be celebrated.
