49ers let go of executive vice president

L. Heneghan

The 49ers have quietly dismissed one of their primary front office members.

Matt Maiocco of ComcastBayArea.com confirms with the team that executive vice president of football administration Lal Heneghan has been let go.

Heneghan has been one of the top-ranking members with the team since being hired in 2006. He oversaw all aspects of the day-to-day football administration as well as legal affairs.

The team says the move is unrelated to the lockout, but instead is part of “reorganizing” duties. It’s unknown if the 49ers will bring in anyone to replace Heneghan.
