Eli on Plaxico: He’s served his time, plus some

eliplaxico

With two weeks to go before Plaxico Burress gets out of prison, former teammate Eli Manning says he thinks it’s past time for Burress to become a free man and get on with his life.

Obviously he’s served his time, plus some,” Manning told the New York Post.

Burress has actually served less than the two years he was sentenced to; his June 6 release date represents about four months off for good behavior.

Manning says he’s hoping to see Burress back in the NFL this year.

“I’m excited that he’s getting out, and if the Giants or another team give him a shot, I’ll look forward to getting him back into football,” Manning said.

Burress will face no league discipline when he gets out of prison. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent when the lockout ends and the league year starts.
