The Philadelphia Eagles have been among the best teams in the NFL for many of the 24 years since the last work stoppage. Their inability to finish the deal and deliver a Super Bowl title has generated plenty of “worst moments.”

The worst moment, however, wasn’t a moment but most of a full year, thanks to a player who wanted a raise and a front office that flatly refused to consider the possibility of giving it to him.
