PFT invades NFLN’s Top 100 coverage tonight

My dad always told me that watching anything more than the last four minutes of a basketball game is a waste of time.  At no point has that been more true than during the 2011 NBA Finals, every game of which has been a ho-hum three quarters setting the stage for an exciting finish.

So as you wait for Game Six of the Mavericks-Heat series to begin to get interesting, slide on over to NFL Network and watch the unveiling of the latest chapter of The Top 100:  Players of 2011, followed by the live Reactions show.  We mention this for partially selfish (OK, fully selfish) reasons, since yours truly will be paying a visit, live via satellite from Pittsburgh, to the Reactions show.

Players 40 through 31 will be unveiled beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET, and the Reactions broadcast begins at 9:00 p.m. ET.  When it ends at 10:00 p.m. ET, you’ll be able to catch the last quarter of the basketball game.

Or, you know, whatever happens to be on NBC.

  1. It has been a very good series through all quarters and truth be told the last 2-4 mins have been the story, but there is more to it.

  2. Why are you in Pittsburgh? Do you moonlight as a tour guide during the summer? “Here is where you get your sandwich with French fries on it, here is the best place to buy a terrible towel, this is Hines Field, here is where I park when I go to the games..”

  3. I hope basketball’s lockout next year will be as much fun to watch as the NFL’s this year!

  4. Judging by every other list, I’m guessing the top 5 is going to be something like:

    1. Jim Brown
    2. Jerry Rice
    3. Lawrence Taylor
    4. Joe Montana
    5. Johnny Unitas

Maybe Otto Graham or Don Huston make an appearance.

(Before everyone argues with me, can we be clear that I’m stating my guess for NFLN’s top 5 not my own top 5?)

  5. Not sure if that was an attempt at humour or not? But it wasn’t even remotely funny.

Why watch NFL Network when they are gonna re-run the show at least 8 times this week.

I’m on board with fonetiklee, NBA Finals, HBO, then I might check in.

Way to turn off your fans who also like basketball.
