With his football future up in the air and his world seemingly crashing around him, Bucs cornerback Aqib Talib is getting back to what he knows.

Talib has been working out with his Bucs teammates on the football field despite a pending legal case that could send him and his mother to jail.

“He’s been coming out and he looks great; he’s in great shape, and he’s in great spirits,’’ Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman said of Talib to Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune. “Obviously our prayers are with him with what he’s going through right now. But he’s a hell of a football player so we hope to have him back and hope everything works out for him.”

Talib is perhaps the most gifted player on the roster other than Freeman, but the Bucs have to plan for life without him. Talib has lined up at cornerback and wide receiver at the informal sessions and Freeman says he’s been the “high energy” guy he always is.

It remains to be seen if Talib is able to use that energy on the field in 2011.

He faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and figures to be suspended by the league at some point, no matter how his legal issues plays out.
