Report: Steelers still aren’t interested in Tiki

Last month, agent Mark Lepselter used the same sentence three times when talking to WFAN’s Mike Francesa regarding the potential destination of running back Tiki Barber.

We feel we know where we’re going,” Lepselter said.

Lepselter also said that two teams have shown significant interest, and that one has emerged as the favorite.

Since then, Tiki has identified two teams on his short list, prompting many to assume that the two teams he identified are the two that have shown significant interest.

The only problem? The two teams are, by all accounts, not interested.

The Bucs reportedly aren’t interested. And now Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reiterates his report from earlier in the year that the Steelers aren’t interested.

Even if the Steelers were at some point in the offseason potentially interested, controversial comments from Rashard Mendenhall and James Harrison likely have made the Rooneys even more leery about a guy who has a chronic verbal case of Montezuma’s Revenge.
