Adam Vinatieri and Melvin Bullitt are staying in Indianapolis.
Vinatieri, the 38-year-old kicker, has agreed to a three-year deal with the Colts, his representatives revealed on Twitter. Bullitt’s deal is reportedly also for three years.
Although Vinatieri has a reputation as one of the best kickers in history, he actually doesn’t have a particularly strong leg: He’s just 2-for-9 on field goals of 50 yards or longer in the last eight seasons, and the Colts have taken him off kickoff duty. But Vinatieri is coming off one of his better seasons, going 26-of-28 with a long of 48 yards.
Bullitt has spent his entire four-year career with the Colts. Last season he suffered a shoulder injury in Week Four and missed the rest of the year.
