Ochocinco gets his same pay for 2011

Cincinnati Bengals v Houston Texans

The Bengals’ decision to trade receiver Chad Ochocinco likely was influenced by a base salary of $6 million that he was due to earn in 2011.

In New England, Ochocinco will still get $6 million this year, via a combination of salary and bonuses, per a source with knowledge of the situation.

The contract was extended for two more years. Details regarding compensation in 2012 and 2013, and regarding the compensation the Bengals received for Ochocinco, are not yet available.

Perhaps the biggest question is how much of that money he’ll have to give to Aaron Hernandez in order to avoid having to apply “Ochocinco” above a number other than 85.
