News about cuts have trickled out the last few days, but we expect a deluge of releases on Thursday when they can become official later this afternoon.

The Redskins are starting their day aggressively.

CSNWashington.com’s Ryan O’Halloran passes along word the following players have been cut: center Casey Rabach, defensive lineman Phillip Daniels, defensive lineman Maake Kemoetau, running back Chad Simpson, running back Andre Brown, wide receiver Roydell Williams and punter Sam Paulescu.

The Redskins signed Barry Cofield from the Giants, who will help replace Daniels and Kemoeatu. The team has no punters on the roster at the moment.

Rabach has started at center for the team for six years and it’s unclear who will replace him.
