Year after making his name running out of the back of the end zone, Dan Orlovsky has run out of time in Houston.

The Texans cut the backup quarterback Friday after signing Matt Leinart to a relatively pricey contract for a reserve this week. Leinart chose more money in Houston over a chance to start in Seattle, but we can’t kill him for it.

He would have been a big underdog in Seattle anyhow. In Houston, he has the best chance to succeed and potentially rehab his value if he ever gets in the lineup.

Orlovsky held off Leinart last year, but never threw a pass in two years with the Texans.
