The lack of an offseason program resulted in the absence of the kind of serious injuries that knock guys out for a full season. Now that football practice is back, it’s time for ligaments to tear, bones to break, and tendons to pop.

Bengals linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy, a fourth-round pick in 2010, said on his Twitter page that he suffered a ruptured Achilles’ tendon at practice on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.

The team declined to confirm the injury, possibly as the team scrambles to sign his replacement before the candidates realize they have a little extra leverage.

Muckelroy played in 14 games last year, ranking second in special-teams tackles.
