Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor got just six months’ probation when he pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute early this year. The pimp who arranged Taylor’s encounter with a prostitute got a much tougher sentence.

Rasheed Davis, who pleaded guilty to transporting a minor for paid sex in connection with the incident, was sentenced to seven years in prison.

“He sold her body like it was his property,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Amanda Kramer said of Davis. “He worked as a pimp.”

Reading the account of the girl’s statement at the sentencing hearing, it’s hard not to conclude that Taylor got an incredibly light sentence.

“I told Lawrence Taylor it was my first time and that I did not feel comfortable,” the girl said. “He went ahead anyway and had sexual intercourse with me. . . . Every day I look in the mirror and know that I am not the same. It was a nightmare that should never have happened to me and it should never happen to any other teenage girl.”
