When quarterback Vince Young joined the Eagles last month, he called the club a “Dream Team.”
With “Dream Team” thereafter becoming the unofficial T-shirt slogan of the Eagles, Young now says his words were taken out of context. While also reiterating them.
“That’s pretty much how it go with Vince Young,” Young said Monday, via Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “My words always get taken out of context. It’s just basically what I mean. We do have some really talented guys and I feel like if we continue to keep working and taking care of our responsibilities and finish like a team like we want to finish I feel like that’s pretty much how I called it.”
And so, basically, it’s still a Dream Team.
“That’s just how I feel,” Young said. “I don’t care what nobody else says, that’s how I feel about the guys here.”
And so, once again, the phrase “out of context” is used out of context to convey displeasure with the fact that someone is being criticized for the words that have come out of their mouths. That’s why it was so refreshing last week, when Seahawks G.M. John Schneider admitted on PFT Live that he said that the Vikings "[expletive] on” Tarvaris Jackson, apologized for it, and moved on.
