The Seahawks traded for former 49ers first round pick defensive lineman Kentwan Balmer last August.

This August, they cut him according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network.

Balmer started 11 games last year in place of he injured Red Bryant, but really struggled to make an impact as a pass rusher. He was a first round pick in 2008 and will likely get another chance in the next two weeks, but Balmer may slip right out of the league.
