As Nate Allen deals with tendinitis in his knee and a sore quadriceps muscle, the Eagles are preparing to line up without him against the Rams on September 11.
Defensive coordinator Juan Castillo told reporters Monday that veteran free agent Jarrad Page is still penciled in as the starter, ahead of Allen.
“Well you know what, Page is playing well,” Castillo said, via quotes distributed by the team. “He’s tough, he’s smart, he has experience and we know Nate has been a good player for us too. So we feel good about that position and we’ll see -- we still have a couple of weeks before we play -- how everything kind of pans out. But we’re happy. We have a few good players at that position.”
Page was one of several new players who arrived in a flurry of signings after the market opened. He inked a one-year deal.
