As expected, Rams receiver Mark Clayton upon re-signing with the team has been placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

He can leave the list at any time and join the active roster, as long as he does so by Saturday. After Saturday, every player who remains on the PUP list must stay there for six weeks.

The 29-year-old was a first-round pick of the Ravens in 2005. He appeared in and started five games for the Rams in 2011, catching 23 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns. In that fifth game, Clayton suffered a torn patellar tendon.

His return adds more intrigue and confusion to a jumbled receiver depth chart that, as of last week, featured no real separation at the top.
