Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, whose injury history raises red flags during his college career, emerged unscathed from his rookie season.

And in the first game of his second year in the league, Bradford emerged from a Week One loss to the Eagles with something that could cause him to miss some time.

Peter King of Sports Illustrated reported during Football Night in America that, while X-rays on an injured finger on his throwing hand were negative, coach Steve Spagnuolo is holding his breath, and saying his prayers.

Bradford has possible nerve damage. An MRI will be performed on Monday.

After the game, Bradford told the media (via Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch), “I don’t see any way that I’m not going to be on that field [playing] next Monday,” against the Giants.

The Rams also endured injuries to running back Steven Jackson (quad) and receiver Danny Amendola (dislocated elbow). Amendola could be out for a long time. As to Jackson and Bradford, the Rams need them back as soon as possible, as they work their way through a tough opening portion of the 2011 schedule.
