A week ago, Brett Greenwood was an undrafted rookie safety cut by the Steelers. Today he’s in the hospital after collapsing while working out.

The Quad City Times reports that the 23-year-old Greenwood suffered an apparent heart attack during a workout on his old high school’s football field in Pleasant Valley, Iowa, on Friday afternoon. He was listed in critical condition.

The Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier reports that Greenwood’s former high school coach, Ed Morrissey, said Greenwood was in an induced coma.

Greenwood went from walk-on to four-year starter at Iowa, and he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Steelers at the start of training camp.
