Denver fans chant for Tim Tebow, but John Fox won’t discuss it

As the Broncos’ offense stagnated in Monday night’s 23-20 loss to the Raiders, Denver fans began to chant for backup quarterback Tim Tebow. John Fox was not amused.

According to the Denver Post, when Fox was asked in his post-game press conference if he considered making a change at quarterback, he ignored the question.

But what Fox can’t ignore is that for all we heard during training camp about how good Kyle Orton looked, he didn’t look all that good on Monday night. Yes, he threw for 304 yards, but that was a function of throwing 46 passes. Orton threw an interception and led the Broncos to four drives that ended in punts, and he lost a particularly costly, and ugly, fumble.

“I just feel sick about the ball slipping out of my hands like that,” Orton said. “It’s just one of those deals that’s sickening to have happen to you. It never really happened to me before.”

The fans in Denver were feeling sick about the way the offense played with Orton at the helm. But Fox won’t even discuss replacing him with Tebow.
