Report: Vick will start

To no surprise, Eagles quarterback Mike Vick will start on Sunday against the Giants, despite suffering a concussion six days ago.

ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio reports that Vick will play.

So why was Vick listed as questionable, when it has seemed obvious that he’ll play?  A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that the Eagles wanted to hedge against the possibility that Vick would have unexpectedly experienced concussion symptoms on Saturday or Sunday morning.

Since the “probable” designation technically sets the bar very high, indicating that the player is virtually certain to play, the Eagles opted to be a little more careful, just in case.  Also, because the NFL demands an explanation when a player listed as probable ultimately is scratched, the Eagles avoided that potential annoyance by simply listing Vick as questionable, even when there was really no question that he’d play.

  1. Great.

Vick will fumble and throw picks, like the human turnover machine he is, and then declare after the game that he “lights out.”

  2. Darn shame-
Bad Newz will start; hopefully, the Giants will finish.. finish Vick for the season! 😈

  3. In Week #1 the Rams hit him very hard in the 1st Quarter andlast week he ran into his own lineman. This year will be like last year and Vick will not play all 16 games. This time there is no Kolb to right the ship. The Eagles have the best players outside of the tackle box on both sides of the ball, but lack the needed muscle inside.

Giants 3 SB Rings, Eagles 0

  4. I’m glad he’s playing. Now there will be no excuses from the E-girl fans when the G-men run all over them. I want to see Vick try and be a pocket passer today.
    G-men 34 – E-girls 21.

  5. Eight turnovers in his last four starts. The Eagles are 1-3 over that span. The hundred million dollar man is facing no criticism whatsoever over it.

If true, that seems mighty silly.

Seven words. How much of a potential annoyance is that?

If he’s probable, he should be listed as probable. Not questionable.

Maybe the NFL should send a letter to all 32 teams about that.

Quite possibly the most annoying comment of all time, and it shows up in every Eagles post.

Do you realize that EVERY team has “haters”? The Eagles are not being singled out, no more than the Giants have “haters” on their stories.

You’re probably right about not playing 16 games, though last week he definitely played differently. He had an unfortunate handoff fumble and another one from running. The pick was not actually a pick. Ironically, he WAS trying not to run around like mad, but got injured in a sort of a freak hit. Bottom line? Vick is going to bring you much more good than bad.

    Eagles 31. Giants 14.

I get that you’re a Giants fan, but really? There is not reason to think they Giants can beat the Eagles here. They are simply not very good this year, period. They struggled against the Rams despite MANY Rams’ blunders. She-Li doesn’t look good. The Eagles are stacked with weapons and playing their first home game at the Linc after putting up 31 against the Falcons at home.

All kidding aside, it’s going to be a long day for you guys.

Vick is now the poster child of the NFL, and criticism of him is no longer allowed, as it’s deemed racist by his handful of shallow minded idiot fans.

Here in Bad Newz, Va., Vick has God like status, and the ghetto children have taken courses in racketeering in hopes to go to prison and land a job with the NFL.

  11. I don’t understand Giants fans. You guys are pretty tore up on the defensive side of the ball. Y’all might beat us for the first time in three years. But it won’t be today. Y’all had to fake injuries against the Rams. THE RAMS for goodness sake. Is everybody gonna show up to the game “sick” so they can postpone it?? I mean really. The Falcons defense, as of right now is better than the Giants current patchwork defense, and we put up thirty points on them, on the road. SO if we’re at home, and we gotta play weaker defense, what’s really stopping us from putting up 40+ points??

  12. MARK THIS DOWN…..I AM SCARED TO DEATH. HE SHOULD HAVE HAD ANOTHER WEEK OFF. ANY INJURY WILL HAVE A DEVASTATING EFFECT. I JUST HOPE I AM WRONG. HOW MUCH LONGER AM I GOING TO SUFFER WITH CASEY MATRESS?
