Eagles will keep same starting linebackers

Cleveland Browns v Philadelphia Eagles

Michael Vick’s injury is getting all the attention, but Philly’s defense was just as concerning on Sunday.

While the Eagles played well for most of the game, their less dreamy players gave up too many big plays to the Giants. Rookie linebacker Casey Matthews struggled on a touchdown toss to Brandon Jacobs, but the Oregon grad apparently won’t lose his job yet.

Defensive coordinator Juan Castillo said Philly was planning to go with the same starting group at linebacker.

“Looks like for this week,” Castillo said.

Coach Andy Reid failed to answer the question earlier in the day.

The Eagles defense has the right matchup to bounce back this week. They host the 49ers.
