Rosenthal typically breaks down the Friday injury report. But the first hint of potential trouble comes on Wednesday, when teams submit the first practice report of the week.

Here’s a list of the big names that were missing from Wednesday’s practice.

They are: Falcons receiver Roddy White (thigh); Bills receiver Steve Johnson (groin); Bears tackle Gabe Carimi (knee); Broncos receiver Eddie Royal (groin); Packers running back Ryan Grant (kidney); Packers linebacker Clay Matthews (quad); Packers cornerback Charles Woodson (foot, knee); Cowboys receiver Miles Austin (hamstring); Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (calf); Patriots guard Logan Mankins (illness); Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez (knee); Giants defensive lineman Justin Tuck (groin, neck); Texans receiver Andre Johnson (knee, toe); Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin (hamstring); Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie (ribs); Jets center Nick Mangold (ankle); and Ravens receiver Lee Evans (ankle).

Raiders running back Darren McFadden fully participated in practice with a groin and shoulder injury. But this isn’t about injured guys who practiced. It’s about injured guys who didn’t.
