The Jaguars have made a move to keep some of their young talent locked up.
Wide receiver Mike Thomas has agreed to a three-year extension worth $18 million, with $9 million guaranteed, Pro Football Weekly is reporting.
The 24-year-old Thomas, the Jaguars’ fourth-round pick in 2009, is by far the team’s top receiver: He has 20 catches for 212 yards this year, while no one else on the team even has 10 catches or 100 yards.
The Jaguars are struggling this season, but with Thomas, Marcedes Lewis and Maurice Jones-Drew to go with rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert, they believe they have the ingredients for a big-play offense in the future.
