Trask’s message to organization: “Let us all be Raiders”

New England Patriots v Oakland Raiders

After the passing of long-time Raiders owner Al Davis, team CEO Amy Trask sent an email to all employees with a simple message.

The message, a copy of which PFT has obtained, is simple but potent: “During this indescribably difficult time, let us all reflect upon what it means to be a Raider -- let us all reflect upon how privileged we are to be Raiders -- and let us all be Raiders.”

That’s surely what Al Davis would want. Every member of the organization, top to bottom, and every fan of the team, approaching their lives with the same spirit and commitment that characterized his life.

Though the passing of the man who set that tone will create at least some short-term confusion and uncertainty as to the path the organization will take, adherence to those principles will ensure that, over the long-term, the Raiders will continue to be a unique and important part of the National Football League.
