Eagles deactivate Mike Kafka

The Eagles would seem to feel pretty good about Michael Vick’s health this week.

They have deactivated quarterback Mike Kafka for the first time this season, leaving Vince Young as the only backup to Vick. The team has had all three quarterbacks active each of the last two weeks, but Young has yet to play in a game for the Eagles since joining the team in the offseason.

Assuming Vick doesn’t go down, the bigger news among the Eagles inactives is that defensive linemen Juqua Parker and Darryl Tapp are active.

Parker has missed the last two games with an ankle sprain and Tapp hasn’t played since Week One with a pectoral injury. Both should play a lot as the Eagles shuffle bodies into the lineup in an attempt to make up for Trent Cole’s absence up front. Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been sacked just twice this season, so Parker, Tapp and the rest of the Eagles will have their work cut out for them when it comes to the pass rush.
