Schwartz says he was subjected to post-game shove, obscenity

AP

Lions coach Jim Schwartz addressed the media after Sunday’s loss to the 49ers, and the first question related to the post-game scuffle between the two head coaches.

Said Schwartz:  “I went to congratulate [Jim] Harbaugh and got shoved out of the way. . . .  I didn’t expect an obscenity at that point.”

Schwartz declined to say who shoved him or shouted the obscenity, but given the manner in which Schwartz answered the question, it’s pretty clear that Schwartz at least thinks it was Harbaugh.

Peter King and I are trying to track down more info on this one.  We’ll be addressing it during Football Night in America, which airs on NBC at 7:00 p.m. ET.

  1. fine schwartz a game check. the BS from the players is bad eneough….dont need it from coaches as well.

  2. Regardless of what what Harbaugh really said to Schwartz, he needs to be classier about his post game handshake. Act like you’ve won before man!

  3. Schwartz is wrong on this. Granted, Harbaugh was jumping around like his team got in the playoffs, but after the hand shake Harbaugh was running to the locker room. Schwartz ran after him and bumped into him. Fine Schwartz for being a sore loser and a big baby.

  4. I’m sure more details will come out, but from my seat that just looked really amateur… by both coaches.

  5. Wow. Thought Harbaugh had more class than that. Way to be an example! Wonder if a fine is coming? 🙂

  6. Schwartz was also subjected to bad play-calling on the final drive. Way to get your best player Calvin Johnson involved. How ’bout dem Niners!

Why would they fine Schwartz? He got shoved and cursed at (allegedly).

  8. “Said Schwartz: “I went to congratulate [Jim] Harbaugh and got shoved out of the way. . . . I didn’t expect an obscenity at that point.”

    Get Em’ coach

May the Schwartz be with YOU!!!!

  9. Harbaugh didn’t push or talk smack to Schwartz. Schwartz was just sour that Harbaugh wasn’t gracious enough in defeat for his taste. Get over it coach and stop lying to cover up the fact that you started a post game scuffle because your feelings were hurt.

  10. I saw harbaugh getting alittle excited to shake his hand and then yell “wooooo” Then I saw schartz act like he wanted a peice of harbaugh only to run in to several niner players including a confused Vernon Davis.

  11. Schwartz must’ve broken a nail too right?

Harbaugh was excited about the win comes over shakes hands then pats Schwartz in then back heads somewhere else on the field(left of tv screen), my feed went to commercial after that.

Unless something happen after that there’s no way Harbaugh would run off the run back to shove Jim again.

  12. If this is true….anouther big mistake for this Rookie Coach. Makes me wonder if he should have stayed in Stanford and matured a bit more before he came to the Pros. As an EX player, I hold him to higher standards in conduct.

  13. Didn’t see the altercation..

Schwartz needs to watch his side-line antics…

The fist pumpin’ and other celebratory motions will not garner him respect amongst his peers.

  14. Said Schwartz: “I went to congratulate [Jim] Harbaugh and got shoved out of the way. . . . I didn’t expect an obscenity at that point.”

I think that after a loss, a hug and a compliment on a well coached team would come across as a ‘shove + obscenity” to such a baby as Schwartz.

  15. Harbaugh, I realize you were a hot shot and talked smack in college, I also realize you were an average NFL QB…but that does not give you the right to be elitist and classless in dealing with a coach who has done a better turnaround that you ever will.

  16. Yea, that’s believable. An NFL coach that just won the game came out in front of all the cameras and players and fans and shoved you and yelled obscenities at you.

Worst bad loser coach ever? Schwartz nice job acting like a 5 year old after the game.

  17. I don’t know- Harbaugh looked pretty bad charging on the field, showing his belly, and barely acknowledging Schwartz as he smacked him.

  18. Story of the week I guess. It was stupid, but I like that Harbaugh gets fired up. The team is fired up too! The whole thing was stupid though…Harbaugh was still celebrating he didn’t mean to disrespect Schwartz. Both guys acted unprofessionally though as Schwartz got all sore. Come get some in January!

  19. What a huge, whining baby Swartz is. Harbaugh is still a player at heart. He was celebrating with his players like a player after winning an ugly, hard-fought battle in an incredibly hostile stadium.

If Swartz doesn’t understand that, screw him. And, if Lions fans are going to whine about that, how pathetic.

  20. Yeah, and Harbaugh will say that he gracefully shook hands with Schwartz, and the next thing he knew 20 Lions players were raining blows upon him.

It’s like the classic “he said, she said” sitcom episode. Both sides will exaggerate, and the truth is somewhere in the middle.

  21. I guess Schwartz left out the part when he was mocking Harbaugh when the Lions went up 10-0 and Harbaugh got flagged for challenging a unreviewable play.

Schwartz has a poor disposition for a leader.when live bullets are flying you need to keep your composure and have better control of your emotions.

Save your emotions for after the battle. He looked like a little kid.

  22. Hmm, second time Harbaugh has had post game drama.

Also, I would not be happy if I went to shake someones had and they cused in my face and slapped at my hand.

  23. Need proof, but if true, Harbaugh loses lots of respect here. Gonna wait and see, but I don’t see Shwartz as a sore loser … he’s had too much experience handling losses.

  24. haha Schwartz is a punk. hes the same guy that went bonkers just a couple weeks ago on a last second win.

was Harbaugh excited? heck yes he was, who wouldnt be? hes 5-1 and just beat the undefeated Lions on the road in a tough, gritty game.

im stoked Harbaugh gets this excited after wins. and Schwartz is a sore loser.

hes also lucky he didnt get to Harbaugh, Harbaugh knocks him out 10 out of 10 times.

  25. Schwartz is the biggest cry baby. He got into with Dez Bryant a few weeks back and was screaming at Harbaugh earlier in the game for challenging a touchdown. I think he was just embarassed that his team lost. Hey Jim, eat my Schwartz!

  26. Is this the same Jim schwartz who punches the air and does toe touches like cheerleader after a win or big play ?? Haha your team got beat so take it like a man u sissy

  27. Schwartz is the guy who was caught on camera yelling “MFers” at the end of the Vikings game and yelling”incomplete, MFer” at Dez Bryant after winning a replay challenge.

So I guess it’s only acceptable to him if he’s the one yelling the obscenities.

  28. Bo Schembechler would be ashamed of Harbaughs actions today. Whether it was Woody Hayes beating Michigan or Bo beating Ohio State, there was a gentlemenly exchange at mid-field to congratulate the winning squad.

I’ve watched Harbaugh grow up in this state and I’ve never been more dissapointed in a Michigan man than I am today.

Should Schwartz have gone after him the way he did? No, but it doesn’t excuse Harbaugh from being a classless jerk.

Thank you Jim for turning down the H.C. job in Ann Arbor. After your classless comments about the school a few years ago and watching what you did today, I think it’s best that you stay on the West Coast.

Go Blue and Go Lions! “May the Schwartz be with you” and “Hoke-A-Mania” lives in the “D”!

  29. Whether or not you think Schwartz is BSing probably has a lot to do with whether you’re a 49ers fan or a Lions fan. I’m not invested in either team but have enjoyed watching both come back. I loved Jim Harbaugh as a player and don’t know that much about Schwartz beyond his success with Detroit. But when I first saw the clip, I thought Harbaugh was being a total jerk–and that he said something when he passed by that set Schwartz off. Emotions run high in those situations. It’s important to be a good sport when you win as well as when you lose. If it had been me, I’d have wanted to slap the fire out of Harbaugh. Not saying Schwartz was right … but I understand.

  30. Sounds like Schwartz is trying to come up with an excuse for an emotional outburst that looked embarrassing on television. I’ve seen it a couple times and can’t find any reason why Schwartz was angry.

Harbaugh meets Boone as he enters the field who is celebrating and he reciprocates, then runs out and shakes Schwartz’s hand and runs off. It’s so fast I don’t even know if he says anything, but him trash talking in that moment seems unlikely. He runs off and at that point Schwartz chases him down and starts yelling at him.

It looks like Schwartz just lost his cool. A shove and obscenities…. Hard to see any evidence of that.

  31. Objectively, Harbuagh was a tad too excited when congratulating Schwartz; but Schwartz just looked childish.

  32. I don’t like Harbaugh but saw it live and several replays, and it was all Schwartz on this one, I think he needs to get a little more thick-skinned when he loses a game becuz there will be more Schwartzie or did you forget what it was to lose already.

  33. Schwartz needs to relax, after every win, he does that really excited punch throw and yelling woo hoo or whatever. If you don’t like when other HC’s do it, maybe you should stop doing it too.

  34. Harbaugh once reportedly broke his hand on Jim Kelly’s face. So maybe it’s best for both sides that the coaches’ teams, refs and security got between them.

  35. grown men acting like children: the modern day coach of any sport at ANY level. I had a soccer coach throw a lawn chair at the ref…in 1st grade. i had a football coach tell me “you enjoy this now, because you can’t go running 25mph and tackle somebody on the sidewalk when you’re older…you’ll go to jail.”

    so inspirational.

  36. What did Schwartz want from Harbaugh, a loving hug and a kiss on the cheek? This is nothing but Schwartz acting like a brat and sore loser. What an unnecessary, embarrassing display that tarnishes an otherwise great football comeback in Detroit.

  37. “I think he was just embarassed that his team lost.”

I’d be embarrassed too if I lost to the luckiest, most overrated team in the league.

  38. Also, yelling “f* yeah” does not count as shouting explatives at someone. And a backslap is not a shove. We have the video, Schwartzy.

Let the guy celebrate. Quit flopping and playing the victim…just shake your head and think to yourself that if you meet up with the 49ers in the playoffs you’ll be the one throwing your annoying postgame air-sissypunches.

  39. Schwartz showed more fight than his team did–good for him. He’s not the one with a history of post game drama…can’t say that about Harbaugh.

I’m a Lions fan, the 49’ers won fair and square, but I wouldn’t trade Schwartz for anyone.

  40. Err, I take it back. Now that I’ve seen the whole clip, Schwartz completely overreacted to the point of embarrassing himself.

Harbaugh looked a little unprofessional at first, but Schwartz acted the clown chasing after him (but not making eye contact wtf?)

  41. I wonder if Harbaugh will be jumping up and down like that when he realized Alex Smith is still his starting QB come playoff time

  42. America — meet the Harbaugh family. Their dad and both Jim and John are the same way.

I suppose it might be endearing if they’re backing your side and you can (ya know) ignore the gag reflex — but to the objective observer, they just come off as self-absorbed hyper-snotty narcisisstic punks.

Don’t take my word for it. Watch the Harbaughs …. closely. Then decide for yourselves.

  43. Schwartz is lying through his teeth. Its on film, we all saw Harbaugh shake his hand and pat him on the back and say “Good job”. He definitely didn’t shove Schwartz. The head coach acting as unprofessional and bush league as Schwartz acted is intolerable. All idiot players need to see is their coach acting idiotic, and it’ll give them license to act the same.

  44. cowher agrees with schwartz and would have done the same thing. Seems like all of CBS has sided with schwartz

  45. Bottom line, Harbaugh can hold his emotions back 5 seconds (and not have to show his belly running across the field) to shake hands with the opposing coach and not give him a hard handshake and smack/push on the back.

As for Schwartz’s response, it looks like the slap /push on the back was the issue with the “wooo” right after…you don’t take that as a coach, or, in your own building, so no issue with him chasing him back down.

  46. The more closely and slowly I look at the video, the less I blame Harbaugh’s exuberance; and the more I think Schwartz over-reacted for an extraordinary amount of time. The ex-player and ex-coach media is gonna roast Schwartz all week.

  47. Nobody shoved Schwartz, he’s just trying to save face. Yes Harbaugh was a little excited, but that’s the emotion of football and if Schwartz cant handle it he needs to take a class. If Schwartz doesn’t want Harbaugh to celebrate he should have gotten his team to win. Not a Niners fan, but that was a great win for them.

  48. Both coaches over reacted given their situations. Harbaugh got a little too excited, jumped around like a 5 year old, and should not have slapped him in the back so hard…… Classless.
Schwarts should have ignored it and let Harbaugh be the immature douche he is, not chase him down the field looking for a fight.

  49. @Deb…. I’m not a big fan of either team. But certainly you’ve noticed Little Jim fist-pumping and getting in the face of other teams/players (see Dez Bryant) as his team scaled the heights to 5-1. Now he’s whining? Because someone reversed the whip on him? Harbaugh has always been emotional and he was after the game, but (unless one is a Detroit fan) anyone see that he’s acting like a sore loser – at best. And I think he’s a cry baby whining “poor me”…

Go, Jim. Give ’em hell, buddy. You just got in his head and it’ll be there the next time you meet.

  50. Hey Lions fans….what happened to that defensive line of yours that was going to shut us down? Suh said we’re conservative so it would be easy to stop our run.

Well, Frank Gore: 141 yds on 15 carries.

  51. No, guys, it’s really simple. What Harbaugh did, he did of his own volition. What Schwartz did, he let himself be goaded into by someone else’s actions.

That makes Schwartz the smaller man. Control of your own emotions and actions is relative. Letting someone else dictate your emotional state to the point that you go and do something pathetic and embarrassing like that?

    There’s only one loser here.

  52. I guess the words “YEAH” and “WOO” are obscenities, and a firm handshake and firm pat on the back are shoves, according to Crybaby Schwartz.

  53. Not a fan of either team but watching the video its pretty clear what happened. Harbaugh was too exuberant in the handshake, Schwartz was pissed – He yelled an obscenity first, you can read his lips… and then when he got a response – he went all postal. I think all this winning has gone to his head. Bad enough he did what he did, but then he lies and makes excuses in his post-game – Man up and take responsibility. Detroit Lions have a winning record at 5-1, their coach however will always be a loser!

  54. Harbaugh should have been a little more calm for the handshake, but what if Schwartz’s run at Harbaugh led to punches being thrown?

Would Schwartz have tried to justify it by saying he got pushed on the back during a handshake?

  55. My observations after looking at the video

    1) Harbaugh was too amped
    2) Schwartz was not shoved, he got slapped in the back just like dudes do when they go in for a “bro hug”
    3) the only profanity uttered was from Schwartz
    4) Harbaugh took responsibility for his role in the fracus in the post game
    5) Schwartz did not
    6) Suh should keep his mouth shut about shutting down another team’s offense like it is fait accompli

  56. After watching it again I think it was just a misunderstanding and while the media will blow it up as a huge story I don’t think it is.

The “shove” Schwartz felt he received was just Harbaugh giving him a pat on the back and it was clear Harbaugh wasn’t trying to disrespect or show up Schwartz or the Lions.

I think once things cool down it’ll all be water under the bridge.

  57. What in the heck was Harbaugh doing? I’ve never seen a coach act like that before. Anyway, Schwartz needs to be above that and I think he will admit to that tomorrow. They were both wrong.

49ers played some great red zone defense and that was the difference in the game. Still say the Lions are the better team, but we have the rest of the season to find that out for sure.

  58. Schwartz is a sore loser. Harbaugh dapped him like any man would dap another after engaging in battle. And seeing how he was the victor he was fired up. Harbaugh made a couple coaching mistaked during the game and when the team pulled out the win he was just as fired up as the players. Go 49ers, you can now be considered amogst the NFC elite of 2011-12.

  59. bossplayer213

    —–

I suggest you go back to Gores huge run of the day and look at Wright (#21). He had Gore at the line of scrimmage and got blocked in the back. NO EXCUSE for the refs missing that one.

  60. Leave Harbaugh Alone!

Dude just won the Super Bowl with Alex Smith!

Clearly, he couldn’t believe it either

  61. Detroit has been acting like they won the super bowl already. Stop Johnson from going deep and catching TD’s off jump balls, along with stuffing Best and the lions are very beatable. That is exactly what the 49ers did today. Detroit is not as good as they are made out to be. Take that Schwartz!!

  62. A lot of 49ers fans commenting on this one. All you have to do is read Mitch Alboms book on Bo to see what a punk Harbaugh really is. He actually called Bo on the phone crying cause Chicago fans were busting his chops. A grown man crying?! An NFL Quarterback, grown man crying?!

Lost a lot of respect for Jim Harbaugh today. Just goes to show you, Elvis Grbac, Chad Henne, Tom Brady, Scott Driesbach, Todd Collins, Brian Griese, John Navare and Demitius Brown were bigger men over the last 20 years at the Big House. No wonder Harbaugh wasn’t asked back for the stadiums rededication.

Say what you will about “Sour Grapes” Niner fan…the rest of the NFL will see what a punk “Little Jimmy” is as the season plays out. By the way Niner’s faithful, ask Stanford how they feel about Jimmy leaving. No wonder Luck stayed in, he doesn’t want to play for a punk at the proffesional level.

  63. Bottom line:

    1. the Lions D-line, who Swartz called the “heart and soul of the team” and who bragged all week about how they were going to shut down the Niners running game, got gashed and humiliated.

    2. Swartz, who loves to do fist-pumps and call opposing players names from the sideline, couldn’t handle an opposing coach celebrating with his players after a hard-fought win. Watch the tape again and again Lions fans. Harbaugh went to shake his hand and give him a back slap. Swartz is a punk.

  64. @ Lev

Not in the Niner’s division? Niners have 5 wins.

    In division:
    Seattle – W

    Out of Division:
    Dallas – OTL
    Cinncinnatti – W
    Philidelphia – W
    Tampa Bay – W
    Detroit – W

    1) Sour grapes? You’re the one in here crying. The Niners just gave you your first loss, in your own home.
    2) Stanford didn’t want Harbaugh to leave. They were pissed he left.
    3) If Luck had come out last year, there is zero chance he would’ve dropped down to SF in the draft

  67. Schwartz lost it, he’ll get fined, blah, blah, blah…all true.

But, I have to laugh at some people on here who see a five second blurb or 10 second fist pump and think Schwartz is a punk or has no class. Dude was pissed at his football team and Harbaugh pushed the button. It happens, Schwartz will regret it and life will go on. But, he’s not a “punk,” and he definitely has a lot more class than some of you “sportscenter psychologists” would realize.

  68. At the end of the Lions’ Week 3 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, FOX microphones caught him telling referee Ron Winter’s to “learn the [expletive] rules!” And in the third quarter last week, Schwartz took exception to Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant’s trash-talking to Lions players during a break in the action while officials reviewed his 34-yard catch. Schwartz had immediately challenged it, and when referee John Parry reversed it, Schwartz took of his headset and pointed at Bryant. His lips were easy to read. “Hey, hey,” Schwartz screamed. “How about that? Incomplete, you mother [expletive]!”

How typical of a loser fan. Excuses. Gore smashed lions D and shut Suh up.
I was waiting for the expected excuses from lions fans. Your team got beat fair and square. Admit it and move on.
Another thing: sure glad we shut up that ahole Best. Some guys were claiming him to be a better RB than Gore lol.
what does Schwartz want? Roses and a hug from harbaugh? Wish the scuffle would have gone farther. Would have nice to see harbaugh’s fist put a dent into schwartz face.

clearly Schwartz is to blame for all this. Harbaugh patted him on the back-the good job type pat- and schwartz just went kookoo.
    ====================

You’re either being sarcastic, a niner fan, a liar, or a blind person.

Harbaugh literally jumped up and landed in Schwartz’s face, yelled something at him, slapped at his hand, and then pushed by him- after bumping into and yelling at several lion’s players.

Have whatever opinion you want, but at least have your facts straight.

  71. @motownlion

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t see anything wrong with a grown man crying. I don’t think it makes someone less of a man. But if that makes you feel better after losing a tough game, than go ahead and talk about how Harbaugh cried according to Mitch Albom.

  72. Schwartz got a taste of his own medicine. Remember the last couple games the Lions won? BAMB! With a fist punch. How do you think the losing coaches felt when they saw that? He can dish it out, but he can’t take it. Loser…

  73. The people comparing Schwartz’s post game fist pumps 50 yards away, and not in the opposing coach’s face and what Harbaugh did are about as blind as Mr. Magoo.

  74. Unless I see proof. I think Schwartz is trying to duck for cover because he sees how big of poopstorm is coming his way. He acts like a jerk after his team wins with a big fistpump and now someone gave it back to him in spades and he cries like the little baby he is. Grow up Jim win like a man and loose like a man, I am sure someone will need to show you what a man looks like though!

  75. Harbaugh should be called to God-del’s office on this one. This isn’t raw raw ree kick em in the knee stuff he did at Stanford. Total classless act and shoeld be held accountable by the league office.

  76. I loved what schwartz did. And for all of you acting all high and mighty right now. If you just lost a close game like that and you were disrespected, you would probably do something very similar. I know I would and that’s why I loved it. There is a certain respect NFL head coaches give to each other. Yes Schwartz celebrates…but at the end of the game he gives the respect the other man deserves. The 49ers didn’t win a playoff game. They won a game that could have been won by either team. Just the fact that hanson missed that FG was amazing and turned into a 6 point swing.

  77. Why the heck was Harbaugh pulling his shirt up while running onto the field? Creepy!!!! I don’t don’t any man who celebrates by flashing the opposing team. What did he think the fans were gonna toss him beads?

  78. ok smart guy talking about the d line. We run what is called a wide 9. The purpose of this style of line is to penetrate quickly and get to the qb. We will always allow big runs because of the lanes created by this type of play. It was a good game and I think these 49er fans need to remember it is just 1 game. This will not make or break either season. I think both teams are making it to the playoffs and I really hope we see them again. I honestly thought there was nothing worse than bears fans but I stand corrected by the stupidity of some of you.

  79. @slickmarine …

The only opportunity I’ve had to see Schwartz in action this season was last week’s Monday night game. And I didn’t notice any obnoxious behavior comparable to that display by Harbaugh. Some guy posted a link showing Schwartz doing the fist-pump thing everyone keeps talking about–but he did that on his own sideline. Harbaugh was doing his coked-up Energizer Bunny routine in Schwartz’s face.

Sure, you could tell Schwartz wasn’t taking the loss well. And yes, he should have sucked it up and let it go. That would have been the mature response. But I thought Harbaugh was unprofessional and kinda asking for a sock in the mouth. 🙂

  80. I thought this was football not ballet.

Unprofessional, immature, what a bunch of sissies!

He was jacked up after the win in an extremely hostile environment and even though the 49ers didn’t play their best, they still won, good on them!

BTW< that wasn't a shove, that was a smack on the back after the win, only Schwartz being PMS took it the wrong way

I think the lions can only win in Detroit against decent teams fwiw, they NEED their home crowd to HELP them win.

    You heard it here first!

Let’s have a little discussion about stupidity.

The 49ers aren’t a passing team and their top 2 WRs are out injured.

The 49ers running game got off to a slow start, but has been extremely strong the past few games.

Stupidity is running a defensive front that allows big runs when you’re playing a running team, such as the 49ers.

Stupidity is seeing exactly what the 49ers did to the “wide 9” against the Eagles (164 yards, 6.6 ypc)

  82. note to lions: when you have the ball in the red zone throw it up to megatron..settling for field goals cost you the game. the better team lost today.

    —————————————-

The better team is the team who wins – I guess the excuses can begin for Detroit like they began for Atlanta after the Pack destroyed them in the playoffs.

  84. Harbaugh is a good coach and he knows the game well.

    And he is a jerk.

He encourages his teams to rub it in on the other team – that has been characteristic of his coaching since he started.

Sure as s..t stinks – this eventually will rebound in his face, hopefully at the worst possible moment.

  85. If you read his lips Harbaugh said “my Schwartz is bigger than yours” That’s why Schwartz lost it.

  86. Schwartz is the real deal and the Lions have the right coach. He’s usually cool under fire but this one time – he lost it in front of God and everybody.

    So what?

  87. I do think Schwartz overreacted a bit, but lets not forget Harbaugh once got into a fist fight with Jim Kelly when Kelly worked for ESPN and Harbaugh was still playin, he got into the “what’s your deal?” confrontation with Pete Carroll and now this… I see a pattern here, gotta be more to it than just a slap on the back.

  88. Maybe everyone should have seen this one coming since it was a close game between two winning teams, and the two Jims were coaching. Maybe that’s why the NFL Redzone channel stayed on the handshake after the game was over.

Here is the truth. Harbaugh celebrated too hard, and Schwartz acted like a sore loser. Recipe for disaster with these two emotional coaches. What a great league.

  89. Harbaugh was a jerk when he played, he was a jerk at Stanford and now he’s a jerk at San Fran.

His macho act is getting old.

If I were an opposing coach I would have someone roll up on him.

He jacked Schwartz in the back under the premise of a slap.

    What a piece of crap.

  90. Cool you get bumped by the team that beat you. Your 5-1 it is 1 game and your team is on fire you have a great season on your way. Easy rest of season You have a playoff birth probably. Just becuase you got pushed and wined like a 2 year old. So you make a fight about it in front of your players then you say you got taped with a firm hand shake and cryed. In the press conference. You should man up. Your team is my 2nd favorite team Jimmy. first team [Minnesota Vikings]

  91. Can’t we just leave it at both guys handled it wrong? Harbaugh probably shouldn’t have been jumping up and down, and shake Schwartz’ hand like that, but at the same time Schwartz probably shouldn’t have ran after him…

  92. Harbaugh was a jerk when he played, he was a jerk at Stanford and now he’s a jerk at San Fran.

    Restore the purr!

  93. Rex Ryan here:

Hey Jim, I don’t like those Harbaughs either. I know you go to short guy complex and everything is a shove. And I am too fat and lost the team that I built to John Harbaugh.

What are you doing on Thanksgiving? Lets get together and root for a tie.

  94. I think that as a sanction for giving Jim Schwartz the high hard one, AND to send a cautionary message to the rest of the league about the importance of proper displays of sportsmanship, the NFL should enlist the services of close personal friend of Joe Montana AND Dwight Clark — recording artist Huey Lewis — to punch Jim Harbaugh in the face after a rousing on-field rendition of “Hip To Be Square”.

  95. Jim Harbaugh was just excited. Schwartz in a whiner. Maybe he should look at the film of when Detroit beat Dallas 2 weeks ago, and see how he acted, before he talks about classless

  96. Ok, wether you r a Lions fan, or a Niners fan, both coaches are at fault. Schwartz WAY over reacted, making him look bad. And Harbaugh, is a coach, so wether your excited or pissed, you took the job, and coaches are supposed to act with class. If your a coach, u go and shake the opposing coaches hand, and wish him “good game”, and go to locker room, ESPECIALLY being the winning coach. But to Scwartz, he didn’t no biggie grow up and be the better man, the retaliation was stupid and made u look bad! To both coaches: let the players be beasts, ur coaches now act like it! And to the people reading, wether ur a fan of either team, both coaches acted like deuchebags, doesn’t make it better by encouraging it!

  97. It’s common respect that the coaches pause to congratulate and say good game and then you leave when both coaches are done. From the video, Harbaugh ran up, slapped Schwartz’ hand like he was a an equipment manager or the linebackers coach and took off. He wasnt’ treating Schwartz like a head coach, so Schwartz was right to feel slighted and be pissed off.

  98. show me a super bowl qb (or playoff) that averages 180 yards a game and one td. Oh thats right Alex Smith somehow still starts for the 49ers and has a head coach that has contracted Rex Ryan syndrome. We all know how the 49ers season will end.

  99. Certainly wasn’t shoved by Harbaugh ….
Check Schwartzie for rabies …. how else to explain chasing Harbaugh down like a mad dog? You (Schwartz) lost … did you think that you would go undefeated?? Yoiks!!!

  100. Nice, the video is “no longer available” but you still make us watch the ad to find that out.
