Willis McGahee to miss 1-2 weeks after hand surgery

Willis McGahee’s quietly impressive comeback season has hit a detour.

A league source tells PFT that the Broncos running back will miss 1-2 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a broken bone in his hand.

The Tebows Broncos host Detroit this week, and will have to rely on Knowshon Moreno and Lance Ball to carry the load in the backfield. It was telling that Ball received many of the carries Sunday after McGahee was hurt.

McGahee is tenth in the league in rushing yards with 456 on the ground.  Moreno and Ball have 56 yards apiece on the year.

  1. And Tebow’s last weapon goes down…..

Well it’s official. Tim Tebow now has unquestionably the worst offensive cast in the NFL.

  2. What’s the chance that Tebow will develop a lightning quick 5-7 yard passing game and that Denver’s TEs and WRs will be able to catch the ball, say, like, before next Sunday?

  3. “Well it’s official. Tim Tebow now has unquestionably the worst offensive cast in the NFL.”

Don’t you worry. Josh McDaniels is doing his best to bring that honor to the Rams.

  4. Good to know he’ll only be out 1-2 weeks. I kind of thought he would be out longer than that when the news broke about his hand.

  5. With the run game pretty much gone for a couple weeks, if you were the HC, would you consider playing Orton? Because I’m not confident at all that Tebow can replace the lost yardage with quick outs and shallow crosses. He could get sacked 15 times.

  6. Just another reason to change Tebow’s number to 45 and line him up in the backfield. Orton can throw, Tebow can run so put them out there together.

  7. I like the “Denver Tebows” – you can call them that….no need to strike it out.

Anybody know when Hanukkah is this year?
