It was easy to overlook, as Philadelphia destroyed Dallas on Sunday night, that Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware had a four-sack game in defeat.
But Cowboys coach Jason Garrett noticed.
“I thought it was an amazing performance,” Garrett said. “I think he was credited with 11 tackles in the game, five tackles for loss, including four sacks, and it was an outstanding performance.”
Sunday night’s four sacks of Michael Vick give Ware 12 for the season, which puts him on pace for a record-breaking 27 this season. (Jared Allen has 12.5 sacks in eight games, which puts him on pace for 25.) Garrett said that if Ware does break Michael Strahan’s NFL record of 22.5 sacks in a season, it won’t be a surprise.
“It’s really almost what you come to expect from the guy week-in and week-out,” Garrett said.
If only the Cowboys could have expected more from the rest of their roster on Sunday.
