Jahvid Best not expected to return for Bears game

It looks like the bye week didn’t give Lions running back Jahvid Best enough time to recover from his concussion.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Best is not expected to play in Sunday’s big matchup against the Bears. That isn’t a huge surprise considering that the team signed Kevin Smith, as first reported by PFT’s Mike Florio.

Best said during the bye week he was feeling “fine” and that his status was “week-to-week.” He expects to play this season again, but there’s no telling when that will happen.

Sunday’s Bears-Lions matchup is a huge game in a weekend full of them.  Chicago is on a roll and could tie the Lions in the NFC North with a win.

  1. Rest up Jahvid – be ready for the post season run.

Lions really need a true banger as a lead blocker, as well as short yardage and goal line plow. If we keep using Best this way, his career will be loaded wiht injuries. Leshoure – get better too. We need you.

Leonard – my man!!! Touted as the Biggest Man in the NFL… flash back to earlier this year…. I highly recommended we bring you in then, and am VERY happy to have you in MoTown now!!! Protect and Plow the road big man.

Looking forward to a slobber-knocker this Sunday. Jay – let me reintroduce you to my little friends. Get used to that pouty face.

  2. I dont even think the Lions practiced today…so how would Schefter know. As soon as he passes the concussion tests, hell play, its that simple. But he cant pass the tests until he takes them….and he cant take the tests until they come back from vacation…..

  3. The good side of me really wants Jahvid to get better…the Fantasy Football side of me really wants Jahvid to hike up his skirt and get in there.

  4. “Get well and come back when you are sure life is short good luck.”

Too short for punctuation, at any rate.

  5. Going to be a very exciting game this weekend.

Two black and blue division teams duking it out for a playoff run. Bears have revenge on their mind after being embarassed on Monday night. Lions have a chip on their shoulder from the total lack of respect in Chicago.

    Gotta love it.
