Broncos rookie linebacker Von Miller had an expensive hit on Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer on Sunday.

The NFL fined Miller $15,000 for a helmet-to-chest hit on Palmer, which came after Palmer had already thrown his pass and also drew a flag for roughing the passer.

Miller was the second overall pick in this year’s draft and has 6.5 sacks this season. Penalties aside, he’s having a great rookie season. He’s in second place in our voting for defensive rookie of the year.

The Broncos-Raiders game was an expensive one for defensive players; Raiders linebacker Aaron Curry was fined $20,000 for a hit to the head and neck area of Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, and Raiders defensive end Jarvis Moss was fined $15,000 for driving Tebow into the ground.
