Report: Sean Payton will coach from the sidelines today

New Orleans Saints v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Saints coach Sean Payton said on Friday’s NBC SportsTalk that he’ll return to the sidelines with his broken leg after his team’s Week 11 bye.

He has changed his mind.

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that Payton will surprise his team and coach from the sidelines on Sunday at Atlanta.

Payton’s decision meshes with the perception that, when the Saints face adversity while Payton is upstairs, there’s no one on the sidelines who can get the train back on the tracks. At the Georgia Dome on Sunday, there should be plenty of adversity for the Saints.
