There’s been plenty of talk in the NFL about the league office going too far in fining defensive players for hits on quarterbacks, but for the second time today we have news of a quarterback being fined for a hit on a defensive player.

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has been fined $7,500 for a horse-collar tackle on Seahawks linebacker David Hawthorne on Sunday. Flacco made the tackle after chasing Hawthorne after an interception.

News of Flacco’s fine comes hours after the NFL confirmed that Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was fined $7,500 for a hit on Bears defensive back D.J. Moore.

Another Raven, defensive tackle Arthur Jones, was also fined $7,500. Jones was called for unnecessary roughness on Sunday.
