After Cowboys kicker David Buehler went down for the season with a groin injury, owner Jerry Jones suggested that the injury was Buehler’s fault for not keeping himself in top shape.

Buehler begs to differ: He says that he has taken care of his body and simply had bad luck in aggravating a groin injury that he first suffered in Week 2 against the 49ers.

I am in shape,” Buehler told Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com.

Buehler said he was doing everything he was supposed to do to stay healthy, and it just didn’t work.

“It’s definitely frustrating dealing with this,” Buehler said. “I was never really 100 percent since I came back from the 49ers and I was trying to get it as close to 100 percent as possible. All injuries are frustrating and it’s frustrating not being able to be out on that field. So I’m doing everything I can to get healthy and get right. I was doing everything before I re-tore it. Just trying to get right and it’s frustrating not being where I want to be physically.”

The Cowboys had Buehler on the roster for kickoffs and long field goals, and undrafted rookie kicker Dan Bailey on short field goals. Jones isn’t happy with Buehler, but everyone in Dallas is happy with Bailey right now.
