The Eagles can take comfort. Their secondary may be a mess on Sunday, but it’s not nearly as bad as the Patriots’ group.

New England downgraded safety Patrick Chung (foot) and cornerback Devin McCourty (shoulder) to out on Saturday.

So they will be without the two best players in a defensive backfield that has already been among the league’s worst. Waiver wire pickup Antwaun Molden and undrafted rookie Sterling Moore will start in place of them.

The Patriots also downgraded starting center Dan Connolly (groin), who got hurt last week. We mentioned previously Saturday that Chad Ochocinco will not suit up either.
