Von Miller practicing with cast on injured thumb

Cincinnati Bengals v Denver Broncos

Broncos linebacker Von Miller is back at practice today, just three days after surgery to repair torn ligaments in his thumb.

The Broncos have confirmed that Miller is participating in practice today, despite the injury. Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that Miller has a cast on his right thumb.

Miller is expected to be a game-time decision on Sunday against the Vikings. The fact that he’s on the practice field has to be considered a very good sign that he’ll be ready to go.

The second overall pick in this year’s NFL draft, Miller has started all 11 games and recorded 10.5 sacks. Miller is the favorite to win the defensive rookie of the year award, and he deserves some consideration for the defensive player of the year award.
