For the fifth time in his career, Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs is the AFC defensive player of the week.
This time Suggs got the honor for his role in the Ravens’ 24-10 win over the Colts, a game in which the Colts could get nothing going offensively until garbage time, and reached the end zone only on the last play of the game.
Suggs had five tackles, three sacks and three forced fumbles, and his six forced fumbles so far this season tie him with Cliff Avril of the Lions for the most in the league in 2011.
Suggs, who leads the AFC with 13 sacks, was also the AFC defensive player of the week in Week 1 and Week 12. Overall the Ravens have had five of the 14 AFC defensive player of the week awards this year, with Ray Lewis and Jarrett Johnson also having received the honor.
