Terrell Suggs is your AFC defensive player of the week

For the fifth time in his career, Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs is the AFC defensive player of the week.

This time Suggs got the honor for his role in the Ravens’ 24-10 win over the Colts, a game in which the Colts could get nothing going offensively until garbage time, and reached the end zone only on the last play of the game.

Suggs had five tackles, three sacks and three forced fumbles, and his six forced fumbles so far this season tie him with Cliff Avril of the Lions for the most in the league in 2011.

Suggs, who leads the AFC with 13 sacks, was also the AFC defensive player of the week in Week 1 and Week 12. Overall the Ravens have had five of the 14 AFC defensive player of the week awards this year, with Ray Lewis and Jarrett Johnson also having received the honor.

  2. Ya congrats. Ray rice off player of week now suggs def player of week against colts! Wow…you guys are so impressive! Steelers are shaking in their boots!

  3. So, am I the only person who think he resembles the NEMESIS from Resident Evil 3 in this picture?

  4. You couldn’t have picked a worse picture. Keep doing your thing Suggs! You’ve been IDP gold this year.

I could ran for 200 yards against the browns for god sake

For real? The Steelers should have signed you for your last game against the Browns since their backs seemed to struggle.

  6. You can hate all you want on the ravens, ray lewis, whatever…But everyone can agree when this big gummed man wants to absolutely wreck a game plan, he is UN-denyable. He is a force, and Im just glad hes on our side.

  7. I like Suggs but maybe Mr. Redneck may have something to say about the DMVP. Can Jared Allen get 5 sacks in three games to tie the farce of sacks in a season? Maybe. Just maybe.

  8. We dont need to run the ball..we are a pass 1st team. You should try it with flacco & see how it works out for you…oh wait nevermind we saw how it worked when he threw 50 times against seahawks!

  9. @steelersownyou

Where’s Tom Jackson and the rest of the Monday Night Countdown crew when you need them? All I can say is C’MON MAN!!!! Really?!?!?

First, Steelers offense looked terrible against the Browns. I wouldn’t go there if I were you…

Second, I love how you bring up one of Flacco’s sub par games to criticize him. Conveniently, you forgot how his arm carried the Ravens in both games against the Steelers this season (not counting the game-winning TD to TJ last year)

Anyway, back to Sizzle. He’s on a short list for DPOY and yes, he owns Big Ben. BALL SO HARD!

  10. Lol…only thing flacco & sizzle own is a losing record in the playoffs. And the steelers do that every year. They “barely” beat teams. They always play down to the competition. Nothing new. Their only 3 losses are to you twice & the texans. Ravens however lose to the stink teams! And flacco is 54% completion on the year. He stinks. Always has….moral of the story is…tom jackson & michael irvin are the only 2 analysts in the free world who would ever take the ravens over the steelers in a playoff situation! And theres 1 reason why all other analysts would pick the steelers…….BIG BEN! CLUTCH!

  11. And to all of you idiot ravens fans…do yourself a favor…we already acknowledge 98% of you live in the slum that is baltimore. But saying t sizzle and ball so hard university makes you sound even dumber! If that’s even possible! Sure, we already know your fan base is the most uneducated fan base & the steelers fan base is the smartest! Just try not to make it so obvious!

  12. I just read everything steelersownyou says as a parody of the typical steeler’s fan. It almost make reading his posts enjoyable.

Good for Suggs, he’s having a monster year.

  13. Yes 98% of us are actually from the town where our team is from, actually its probably 99.9%, we aren’t a bunch of band wagon fans. Most steelers fans couldn’t find pittsburgh on a map of pennsylvania even if they are part of the 10% that actually is from the town.

See you in the playoffs for the season sweep.

BTW, Flacco is actually 4-3 in the playoffs, all on the road.
