On Sunday, Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher landed awkwardly in a Metrodome end zone, twisting his knee. He limped off the field, and after the 17-13 win over the Vikings coach Lovie Smith said Urlacher has a sprained MCL.

Thereafter, reports surfaced of a PCL injury.

The Bears have announced that an MRI confirmed the MCL sprain and a partially sprained PCL. Urlacher had no sprain of his ACL, and no meniscus or cartilage damage.

It’s unknown whether surgery will be required for the PCL. Minor to moderate MCL sprains heal with rest.
