Report: Dolphins feel Fisher “used” them

Now that Jeff Fisher has picked his next team, the loser can begin to chew on sour grapes.

The first volley comes from Mike Freeman of CBS, who reports based on an unnamed Dolphins source that “Jeff Fisher used us.”

Ya think?

It was a classic leverage game, with Fisher manipulating once side against the other in order to get the best deal possible. Even Adam Schefter of ESPN, who insisted (presumably on Fisher’s behalf) that leverage wasn’t being exerted, couldn’t ultimately deny that it was a leverage game.

Indeed it was. It’s now too late for the Dolphins to cry about it. Desperate to legitimize the ownership of the team by Stephen Ross, the Dolphins did whatever they had to do to land Jeff Fisher. They had to know there was a significant risk that Fisher was using their zeal in order to get the best terms possible out of Rams owner Stan Kroenke.

Kroenke took the same risk. And Kroenke won. Regardless, the loser only looks like more of a loser by whining about an outcome that the loser knew was entirely possible.
