Just about everything has gone perfectly for the Patriots Saturday night, at least until the fourth quarter.
Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez got his “bell rung” on a carry at the goal line. Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports that Hernandez got concussion tests on the sideline after the hit.
The Patriots are officially calling Hernandez questionable to return with a head injury. He’s played more than ever in the backfield and leads the team in rushing with 61 yards on five carries.
New England entered Saturday’s game as healthy as they have been all year, with safety Patrick Chung and linebacker Brandon Spikes making a big difference on the team’s defense.
Hernandez’s status will be something to watch this week in the buildup to the AFC Championship.
UPDATE 12:05 a.m. ET: Hernandez spoke to reporters after the game. “I’m good,” he said.
