Packers shocked to be cleaning out their lockers today

The Green Bay Packers expected to be preparing for the NFC Championship Game today. Instead they’re cleaning out their lockers. And there’s a sense of shock inside the locker room about that.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quotes several players who sounded stunned today, speaking less than 24 hours after they lost to the Giants on Sunday evening.

Said linebacker Desmond Bishop, “Has it soaked in? I think so. I don’t even know. Maybe not. I’m still kind of numb. So probably not.”

Glad that was cleared up.

Packers receiver Donald Driver says he won’t retire, but he might be done with the Packers, as there’s talk that Green Bay won’t bring him back unless he’s willing to take a significant pay cut. Driver said he wasn’t ready to think about the possibility that the loss to the Giants was his last game as a Packer.

“No one prepared for this,” Driver said. “No one prepared to pack their bags up and move out. But you play the way we played, and that’s the outcome. You have to pack your bags and head down the road. I think right now, a lot of guys are saying they don’t know what to do. They don’t know when to go home. Because no one prepared to leave this week.”

Packers defensive end Mike Neal said he and his teammates still can’t believe that this is it.

“Nobody expected it,” Neal said. “We didn’t expect to be here. Everybody has blank stares on all their faces.”

This wasn’t a loss that the Packers are going to get over any time soon.

  1. Wow…. it sounds like these guys ‘expected’ to be playing for the NFC Championship. That’s a dangerous thing.

I mean, what are the chances the NY Giants could come up to the frozen tundra Lambeau and beat the Packers. 😉 Hell…. Tom Coughlin was so confident he didn’t slather his face in a quart of Vaseline this go around.

  2. The fact that they expected to win is why they lost. In the NFL you always have to expect to lose and use that to push you to play harder. Especially in the playoffs. The Giants knew what was at stake and played for their lives. The fact that they weren’t “prepared” to lose is just laughable. Do you think dynasty teams like the Steelers, Cowboys and Patriots didn’t know what was on the line during their runs? Of course they did!

  3. Of course they were shocked. The league told them not to worry about it- that the officials would take care of making them the winner.

  4. Hahaha, now they know how Atlanta felt getting knocked out by a Wild Card team at home. 1 and done for the pack!

  5. Hahahaha!!! Where are all those loud mouthed Packer fans now?

To all the normal Packer fans… Sorry, my two best friends are Packer fans and I felt bad for them.

    15 – 1 to one and done!

Also – Why does Mike McCarthy look like he’s looking both North and South at the same time? He looks like the typical Packer fan (like the fan banging on the window from insurance commercial)

  6. Shocked? Players Shocked? They should be the only ones who arent shocked. The Fans expected better and the players didnt deliver. Shocked is for someone who would be surprised at the result of something. GB players couldnt be surprised they lost after how they came out and played.

I wonder how shocked some of them will be when they dont get contract offers to stay, or just get cut outright? GB needs to do some minor tweaking on that team, and that will involve some players being gone.

GB needs to switch back to the 4-3 with a new DC. Get an edge rusher in there and another decent CB. Let Finley go somewhere else to drop passes, and groom one of the younger TE to block and catch balls. And, finally, get a Running Back who can carry the ball more than 9 times a game.

GB losing that game better be a wake up cal to Murphy and Thompson to see how other teams do things. GB has the talent to be great for a few years, they better not waste that time trying to make that type of Defense work there. The Offense shouldnt have to average 35 points a game because the have to to win.

  7. somewhere #4 is smiling. As a Vikings fan this years packers team reminds me of the 98 vikings. You were outplayed and were beaten by the better team. You have to give congrats to the Giants they put a great game together. Offense sells tickets, but defense wins championships.

  8. From a Vikings fan… a major Packer failure brings me sweet pleasure…was a great day yesterday!

  9. You now have more stories about ousted playoff teams on your front page (including wild card round ones) than the ones still in it. Bravissimo.

  10. Shocked because they kept fumbling/dropping their stuff as they tried to transfer stuff from the locker to a box?

  11. Everybody knew Rodgers would have to really bring it for his team to stand a chance, and most people expected him to do exactly that. It just goes to show that when it comes to the Packers, nobody can bail them out except for #12…that’s all they got. Maybe next year a defense and running game will show up so maybe this guy won’t have to carry the other 52 guys on the rosters solely on his shoulders.

he New York Giants offensive lineman knew what questions were coming Friday afternoon after practice. So Chris Snee approached it with humor when asked if he heard Packers defensive lineman B.J. Raji said his group wasn’t the toughest.

“I was upset about it all night. I couldn’t sleep, really tossing and turning,” Snee said wryly

With the Giants set to face the Packers in an NFC divisional game on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET though, Snee got serious about what Raji, a New Jersey native, said earlier this week

“All kidding aside, no one cares what B.J. had to say,” Snee said. “Sometimes when you’re young and you make it to a Pro Bowl and then to a Super Bowl and you have your own commercial, you feel the need to talk. We’ll do our talking on Sunday.”

  13. I hope they do not forget it for a long time.

As A die hard Packer fan, I am pissed. The team looked like they were in preseason forum.

I have never been a big Mike McCarthy fan, and now even less. He makes alot of blunders with his play calling.

  14. I wonder how many posts will follow that brag about being better than any other nfl fan because they are an owner? I spend a lot of time in WI and have always known the average IQ to be far below that of any other nfl fan – thanks for proving that with you’re “I’m an owner” comments…….lol.

  15. Too bad, So sad…….BYE-BYE

Got tired of hearing how good they were anyway.

Got tired of watching the officials help them get back into games.

Just glad we don’t have to listen to the Packer fans spouting off at the mouth anymore.

Now we will have to listen to them cry a lot.

  16. The reality is, it’s not how you play throughout the season, it how you play at the end of the season that counts.

In the end there are always 31 losers.

  17. the packers took the giants lightly and payed the price for it. i understand that mccarthy is probably a very bright guy…..but something tels me that he actualy thought he was facing the same giants team that he faced in the regular season. if that was the case then shame on him.

youd have to be pretty foolish to not understand that the giants are now a force. and yes, i do believe they could have beaten NO next week in the superdome if the saints had won their game. the giants D held atlanta to NO points and would have held GB to only 6 if not for the refs. theyd have put the brakes on brees too.

  18. Green Bay Chokers……………football people are not shocked. No defense or running game means a playoff loss. Packer suck and are in for a decline until they build somethig other than a QB and some receivers.

  21. What a bunch of losers. Way to re-pay the fans for those millions of dollars they basically donated to the team this year (stock sale).

Bunch of bums that played with no heart. Worst playoff loss ever for a 15-1 team. Worst playoff loss ever for a defending Super Bowl champ. Worst loss in over two years.

And you do it at home against a 9-7 team. Pathetic. You embarassed your fans.

And to anyone who thinks the Giants went out and dominated — get real. The Giants just took the field and watched while the Packers imploded. What a disgrace.

  22. The chokers, err, packers are the first, EVER, team to be 15-1 and LOSE IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS.

Despite several obvious gifts from Wisconsin native Levy, the lead referee, the pukes STILL got absolutely pummeled in every way.

Hey, pack fans, WHERE ARE YOU NOW???

    DISCOUNT DOUBLE CHOKE!!!!!!

    WE LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

    EPIC>>>>I MEAN EPIC FAIL!!!!!!

  23. Hahahah what a bunch of baby’s they r so overrated it’s not even funny the giants r a better team all around they should be glad they got 14 free points that’s how bad they are

  24. Packers may be shocked but I am not.

They thought they were better than they actually are. The defense can’t stop anybody, and even good offenses will be shut down by good defenses.

Just look what KC did to them. Not only did they shut down Rodgers and Co. but the Chiefs also exposed the whole team as pretenders and gave the Giants the blueprint on how to beat them.

The Chiefs were the first good defensive team Rodgers faced this season and they dominated him. The Giants werent as dominant, but they were good enough.

Good defense always beats good offense

  25. Welcome to the big time, Packers. It’s not as easy to stay at the top when everyone is shooting for you, now is it? We’ll see now if Packers and Saints learn from this postseason, and come back pissed and ready, or if the window is closing on them both.

  26. No crap it sucks, but when everybody chokes, including the coaching staff what do you expect. Yes the Giants do credit, they did win the game that’s all that counts no excuse. Maybe next year we will have a shot again.

  27. Giants center Davis Baas had one basic response to all questions on Raji, and repeated it until reporters got the message.

“Honestly, I don’t care,” Baas said. “I’ll do my talking on Sunday with my pads. I don’t care. He can say whatever he wants to say, it doesn’t matter.”

Yup…the Giants talked last night and the Packers were listening!!

  28. If this loss is all Viking fans have to hang their hat on, that is actually pretty funny. And quite pathetic.

  29. Your defense SUCKS PERIOD! The 49ers have been the most COMPLETE team in football all year and it is showing now

  30. Not rubbing it in but..
The Divisional round losing, 14-2 N.E. Patriots of 2010 would like to thank the Divisional round losing, 15-1 Green Bay Packers of 2011.

The new leader in the clubhouse.

  31. The Pack took the path of Tony Dungy….rested…lost their momentum and crashed. Dungy never learned but I think McCarthy will!

  32. I think the Packers got ahead of themselves in thinking they would just walk out there and win because they’re the Packers.

However, you can’t call them losers. The are still the defending Super Bowl Champs, and they did go 15-1 this season.

Only fans of the 4 remaining teams would trade places with that two year body of work.

  33. What??? The Packers lost? Even with the refs on their side? Sorry Pack. I wonder if anybody is going to start investigating whether the NFL and refs “fix” games in order to keep them close or help their chosen team (Packers) win. Oh well… Even the refs couldn’t help out a bad Packer team yesterday. I’m sick over it myself.

  34. I thought they would go further, but if you expect to win you don’t deserve it. Working for it and earning the win is how you get the job done.

OK I am a huge packer fan, but that is some funny stuff right there I dont care who you are!

  36. Absolutely enjoying every bit of today and all the whining from the Packer fans!! You Suck!!

  37. Such arrogance. There are no invetible teams anymore Packers, you actually have to play these games and play them with heart.

  38. There’s something particularly satisfying about seeing arrogance get smacked in the mouth.

  39. I’m still waiting for Aaron Rodgers to hand the championship belt over to Eli Manning.

Hmm…. NY Jets Pepsi commercial stopped airing.

I wonder if the Green Bay State Farm commercials are next to go.

  40. That’s what happens when you just assume you’re going to win and don’t put as much preparation into the game as it needs.

Really? Didn’t know they lost two Sunday’s ago when the first round of the playoffs were being played. They did lose in the second round though, idiot.

  42. Two teams came into this past weekend with attitudes, EXPECTING to win and overlooking their opponents with an eye on the NFC Championship game. Green Bay and New Orleans.

In both instances, the team that earned the win moved on. Green Bay’s season is over. The Saints season is over.

The Giants and the 49ers both deserve congratulations for outstanding wins this weekend.

  43. Funny all the people saying they aren’t shocked…you saw this game coming, right? You knew the Packers would be more out of sync than a typical preseason game? The Packers had plays, they just left them on the field with overthrows, wrong routes by the WR, etc. Not taking anything from the G-Men, who played a great game, loved Eli’s throw at the end of the half, but the Packers didn’t fully show up. We knew the D wouldn’t but not AR and that offense…

This game reminds of a 1987 divisional playoff game the 9ers had with the Vikings. The 9ers were expected to win it all after another great season and got stunned by an inferior team 36-24. It happens. The Vikings did nothing a week later; hoping for the same from the G-Men, but not expecting it. Congrats to them on a well earned victory. Defending the crown has to be the hardest task in sports…

    Go 9ers!

This just keeps getting worse for the Jets- e.r., I mean the Giants. It’s gonna be enjoyable to watch them lose.

    ————————————————–

That’s doubtless. I’d imagine it should be more enjoyable, though, to watch your team win.

But if comments like these would add to your enjoyment, does that mean they’ll add to your disappointment if the Packers lose?

I mean, naturally if the Giants lose, everyone will say, “Well, of course,” but with championship defense on the line, 15-1, and a brash and annoyingly arrogant east coast team – Ugh. What if they actually win? That’ll suck.

  45. They looked horrible all-around. I think we all realized that the defense wasn’t very good, but I though it was good enough to at least slow down She-li, Cruz and Hicks a little bit. I certainly thought the offense would play well.

What actually happened was that the defense looked slow and and not mentally “in” the game. They bit on on bad coverages and angles. And of course, the offensive timing and fumbles were ATROCIOUS. To Rodgers’ credit, I think he played well overall. I only saw him miss a pass or two. The rest of it came from the drops (there were at least 8).

As for the Giants, I hate them. But damn, they are playing well.

  46. As the comments from Packer fans declines today on PFT, the capacity at the local bars and VFW’s in and around Wisconsin are beyond what the fire code allows……..but since the Fire Chief is there too I guess it will be okay. Drink a little more than usual today Packer fans, you deserve it. Suck Pack Suck!

  47. J-E-T-S bypassing AFC championship game. Going directly to Indy. Apparently no one told them they didnt make the playoffs.

  48. I’m still not sure why this is soooo shocking. The packers had the worst d in nfl history. I thought they would slip by the giants , because the fact is the giants suck a well but they do have a pass rush that killed an already beat up line. San Fran is going to crush the giants next week.

The packers need to think long and hard about where they play and understand that offense can not win in January in green bay without a d. They need to get rid of a lot of that d including 21 and his huge salary, the guy is nothing more than nickel back and pass rusher cept he no longer has the speed to do either. So it’s move Woodson to safety where he can still play but would be retardedly over paid or cut him. They also need more pass rushing linebackers. Cm3 was beat dead and you could see it. They need Someone behind him and someone on the other side. But the biggest need for the pack is oline, they need to get younger and need to find guys who can run block. And finally they need a real runnin back. I think unless an outside backer is there I think they take a back in the first or second round. The guy I like for them is Polk from Washington. I think he fits what they do

  49. You have to wonder how many pairs of shoes were droped while packing

I just want to know did Erin send Eli his title belt

  50. Please McCarthy..learn from this and don’t become a Tony Dungy. Next year keep the pedal to the metal and keep momentum going……………..

  51. Some people say they choked, but I disagree. There defense sucked. That is the main reason they lost. Look that defense a year ago was hungry, this year they sucked pretty much all year. I thought it was going to be the Saints to beat them but that didn’t work out. The Giants as much as I hate to say it are the hot team right now. They have a good QB, solid running game, very good WRs, and a defense that is starting to really come together now that it is healthy. There O-Line also seems to be playing the best they played all year as well. The Packers were 15-1 and everyone thought they would steamroll everyone including the Packers.

  52. As I diehard packer fan, I cringe when I see dumb posts that say that McCarthy is a bad playcaller or letting go of Finley or even switching back to a 4-3 defense. That would be devastating to our group since we’ve built our defense for a 3-4.

Matthews would struggle if that happened and he has the ability to be one of the best defensive players in the league. McCarthy has guided one of the best offenses in the league for years and now that we choked you’re going to call for his head? In my opinion, we need to draft a cornerback and a linebacker to help out Matthews. I want driver to stay but I don’t see it happening.

If Thompson took a risk and signed a FA like pickett I think our pass rush would vastly improve. Our corners struggled this year because they had to cover guys for 8-10 seconds a play. Someone is goin to get open with that kind of time.

I’m fine with Starks but a speedy change of pace back (even Randall Cobb would work) would compliment his power running. Our team is great but it has holes that can be fixed.

As a fan base we’ve endured two horrible Giants losses, Brett Favre leaving and a superbowl victory in the past 4 years. That’s not bad if you ask me. All packer fans need to remember that we have a 3.12% chance of success every year. Losses are part of the game. We’ll be back next year and this will be water under the bridge.

For those Viking fans posting.. You are and will be one of the worst teams in the league for years to come. Stop it.

  53. Oh yeah…now everyone is talking about defense over offense. Last week is was all about the greatest offenses to ever breathe! How could they be stopped?

You guys crack me up. I want to be able to read some of your posts from last week. Then again, maybe they were all from fans who’s teams got ghosted from the playoffs…

  54. I really don’t know how they can be surprised when the defense played only 2 good games all season and that was against weak teams. The 3rd down defense was absent more times than not. Congrats to the Giants. They earned the win!

  55. FYI – Only old-timers will understand this:

Given this game and given the game 4 years ago in GB, the ghosts of 1961 & 1962 can finally rest.

    The debt is paid.

    dc33 – your 3:26.

Don’t forget the 15-1 Steelers of 2004 who were taken out 41-27 in the Div. Final by the (stop me if you’ve heard this before)

    PATRIOTS

  56. To all of us Vikings fans: Wasn’t this the best weekend of football of the season? The Saints lost in the most heart-breaking way (how does it feel to be on the other end?) and a Packers loss is always a win! Especially this one.

  57. Not for nothing, but after watching the Packer play yesterday, maybe they should have spent more time acting like a team who need to PLAY in order for them to advance instead of believing it will be given to them. It’s clear to see by all the miscommunication yesterday that they spent less time practicing any more time hanging out.

  58. Looking at the big picture they did WIN the Super Bowl last year and had a great run this year that came up short in the playoffs… I can tell you though I would not trade being a Packer fan for anything when you at how poorly run some franchises are in the NFL…It is only football and everyone will move on and they will back next year with a chip on there shoulder and make another run at a title.

  59. Giants clearly deserved to win; congratulations to them.
Packers couldn’t hold on to the ball and had several amazing screw-ups on defense. Only a couple of them looked like they were ready for a playoff game. What McCarthy was thinking with that onside kick attempt I can’t imagine.
To those who are gloating, fine, have your fun. The Pack won it all last year and went 15-2 this year. They’ll be in the mix for the next 5 -6 years minimum. Their needs, particularly on defense, are clear and Thompson will be addressing them. The Pack will be back. Not a slogan. A fact.

  60. Judging the quality of the two organizations and comparing their success in the league I’m surprised the viking fans would be saying anything. I’d be more concerned about where the their team will play in 2012.

  61. The packers need to think long and hard about where they play and understand that offense can not win in January in green bay without a d. They need to get rid of a lot of that d including 21 and his huge salary, the guy is nothing more than nickel back and pass rusher cept he no longer has the speed to do either. I think he fits what they do
    ———————————————————-

We need to draft a ROLB and a D end high in the draft, If Collins can play next year that’s great, if not move him to saftey. He can no longer play out their at corner in the base D. The only thing wrong with the D this year was a lack of pressure and the loss of one of the 3 best safties in football.

As far as the line goes, Clifton is the only one we need to replace, Lang will be 3rd year, sitton 4th year, Bulaga 3rd year and wells is 32. We have either Newhouse or are first round pick from last year. This year thewy will get OTA’s and full off season. You’d have to think Clifton is done.

Randall cobb needs more involved in the offense.

We got beat, we’ll live with it and move on Congrats and good luck to the G men

  62. Packers shouldn’t be shocked that they missed a golden opportunity at a dynasty………but they weren’t humble enough…….too arrogant………On a Monday night in November at HOME to the hapless Minnesota Vikings, they call 10 passing plays and only 9 running plays in the 4th quarter of a 45-7 beatdown and Charles Woodson is blitzing late in the 4th quarter……C’mon……………you’re up by 30 points to one of the worst teams on the planet and you’re pouring it on……….they sure could have used those 14 4th quarter points from that game yesterday………….I guess the 2007 ‘Favre’ loss to the Giants is now joined by the 2011 ‘Rodgers’ loss to the Giants………Have fun golfing, Pebble Beach has open golf times thjis week……..

  63. The good news for Packer fans is their stock has not been devalued… it is still sitting at its all-time high of being WORTHLESS

  64. It feels good to see another 15-1 team choke it all away, especially when it’s the Packers. I remember that NFC Championship game against Atlanta like it was yesterday. That one hurt pretty bad.

The funny part is that the Packers are no closer to the Lombardi trophy than the Vikings are. After all that. The difference is that we get to pick #3 in the upcoming draft, along w/ high picks in the remaining rounds. the Packers look slow and old on defense.

I hope this loss really stung the Packers and burned into their psyches and self-confidence. And you know what, I think it did. It was a choke of epic proportions and one that could turn their franchise for the worse. Good. I hate them and love the rivalry of the NFC North division.

  65. hahahaha, suck it up losers! Is that the Packers and the Saints? Gosh noooooo!!!!! Who will we all live……. Thank goodness they are out….

  66. Thank you Viking fans for reminding me why I will be excited when the Vikes move to LA.

Great analysis. You don’t actually get to “save” points from earlier games and apply them to later games. I’m a lifelong Pats fan, but I think all of this negativity from Viking fans will actually drive morefans to cheer for the Packers in the future. My wife’s family is from minny (she always hated the Packers) and cheers for the Pats with me, but says Green Bay is now her 2nd favoriate team. Seriously, your behavior is quite embarassing – you do realize, right, that your team was 3-13 this year? And, after what? 10 years? 12 years? still waiting for a stadium deal. Sad, really.

Seriously, you can’t tell me that Packer fans didn’t relish our choke jobs in the playoff’s when we were the critic darlings to win it all. If not, then I would question why a rivalry even exists.

And trust me, this was a choke job for the Pack, plain and simple.

Look into replacing Matthews. He hasn’t looked the same since he stopped the juice at USC. Too soon?

  73. Hard to feel too bad as a Packer fan – they did win a SB last year. This year there were just too many holes. But if you win SB, you have five years of enjoyment – can’t complain about the “big picture” unless of course the team implodes or gives up.

  74. Patriots shocked to be 18-1. Colts shocked to lose Super Bowl. Saints shocked to be eliminated by 7-9 Seahawks.

It happens. Buck up, Green Bay. It was great Super Bowl win and a regular season to be proud of. Its not like the Giants, when they get hot, haven’t wrecked other teams’ seasons, including their own.

It’s the NFL. Anyone can be the next champion. It is why we watch.

  75. Wonder if McCarthy is second guessing that 4th and 5 (IDIOTIC maneuver). Never should’ve tried that and it was a game changer. Having said that, I don’t like McCarthy anyway so I hope he chews on it for a while

  76. Hey Bi-Queen fans. Lets not forget your trophy case is empty. Lot a talk from a team that has no Superbowl wins.

We had a good run. We lost. It happens to all teams at some point. We have a good enough foundation that we will be relevant for years to come.

I was just as shocked. The bye week did not help that is for sure. Good luck Giants. You guys beat us no doubt. You deserve to move on.

Something packer nation will have to do….move on!

  77. From a Pack fan:

They should be shocked… at their horrible showing. The so-called best receiving core in the NFL was blanketed perfectly all night. The Giants tore them up, and it wasn’t close.

The Giants talked and bragged all week, and that’s what hurts. They backed it up. Good job to the Giants and I hope for a great NFCCG.

No Packers or Saints in the CG… crazy. I guess a good defense trumps everything else, even in this age of passing. If GB doesn’t move on from Capers, there will be more of the same next year: an O-heavy team that only looks good in the regular season.

(BTW I tried posting this last night right after the game, but the comments kept going *poof*…)

  78. They looked terrible last night. How many dropped balls were there?? If you play like that you can’t expect to win, so pack your lockers and go home.
16/1 means nothing now, it’s the end of the season that matters.

  79. Back to the drawing board Teddy! We need: a PASS RUSH, left tackle (farewell Cliffy you are the man), a RB who can actually take one to the house, linebacker and secondary help.

To the tards calling for Finley’s head, CHILD please. Find me 5 more athletic TE’s defenses have to game plan for. Sure, he dropped passes this year but that ish happens. If we let him walk, BIG mistake.

  80. Interesting to see what this team looks like next season — who comes back — who does not.

That Jints game gives a pretty good road map for where the Packers should be going in the draft.

  81. Eli Manning said he was an elite QB before the season started and people laughed. Well, he’s walked the walk.

He took down Tom Brady ealier in the year in Foxboro where the Pats haven’t lost in several years. He just took down Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau.

Eli isn’t as flashy as Brady and Rodgers with their gaudy stats. But nobody can question his grittiness and toughness.

  82. As a die-hard packers fan, the game was hard to watch last night, but I think what made it hardest to watch was the fact that I didn’t expect them to lose, and that’s exactly what the packers thought too. They barely made the playoffs last year so they were just exited to be there, and when they won it they were surprised. so this year there hopes were up and they had such a great regular season so they thought they could fly through he playoffs, but sadly, they didnt.

  83. Just remember that in 2007 New York won the Super Bowl and in 2008 the Giants were the number 1 seed and prompltly got there butts kicked by Philly at home. For all the Big Blue fans bragging just remember your own history.

  84. Today is only about one thing.

    The Packers lost.

Finally, the nonsense from the stupid Green Bay fans will stop.

    Go away, classless Packer fans.

  85. Nobody expected to be cleaning out their lockers today because Bill Leavy left two tickets to the NFC Championship game on each Packers player’s stool in the locker room.

I guess we can stop hearing this junk about how much better Rodgers is than Favre. Rodgers still has a long way to go
    ———————————————————-
As in to catching up with Favre in choking in the big games, yes. Not only did Favre choked for the Pack, but he also did it with the Vikes. So if you want to talk about choke artis Favre would be it. He aslo didn’t win that SB either. If it wasn’t for having the #1 D, and for D Howard getting all the return yards that he did. Didn’t D Howard also win the MVP that SB. So I guess A-Rod winning the SB-MVP is ahead of Lord Favre.

  87. I’m a Lions fan….and that was a good feeling to see the Pack lose like us….One an done, an they’ed scored less than us wit dat Potent offense…WOW

  88. I miss claymath52. I wonder where he has gone? Guess the same place the rest of the arrogant Packers fans who proclaimed there superiority have disappeared to. To the rest of you Pack fans, better luck next year. To the a..h..e Pack fans, enjoy the taste of Eli n&*s all up in ya mouth!

A fact.

    ———————————————–

Ah, once again the Packer fans are going to provide us with “facts”.

Would these “facts” be as reliable as the beauties your fan base proclaimed this past season?

    “Fact”: 19-0
    “Fact”: 2012 Super Bowl Champions
“Fact”: 3-5 Championships in a row
    “Fact”: Dynasty
“Fact”: No one can stop our offense

Now how did those “facts” turn out for you again?

I find it hysterical you Packer fans think it’s only Viking fans on here ripping you. Do you not read the comments completely or look at the user names? At least 3/4 of the teams in the league have fans on these “Packers losing” stories going after you, because they’re tired of your smug, arrogant, obnoxious ways. And believe me, jealousy most certainly has nothing to do with it.

  90. So now the closet Vikings fans decide to come out of the woodwork? I take pleasure in knowing our loss was your ONLY joy from this football season.

  91. I live in Milwaukee…for WEEKS now I’ve been saying the Packers’ defense is non-existent. On Sunday, I was proven to be correct. They can’t cover anyone. They would blitz Manning and get him to hurry….but the next play, they’d rush 3 guys and Manning would have all day to pick the defense apart.

I would have blitzed every play until the Giants stopped it.

  92. LMAO at Packer fan losers like “Carl Gobslurp”, “jimmysee”, “gb4mn0” and other chumps not showing up here after running their yaps all season long, not unlike the fans of the 2007 Pats team that went “Eighteen and D’OH”.

The two most obnoxious fan bases in all of football. Eat that crow, Packer fans…the Pats fans will be next to taste the big black bird.

The funny part is that the Packers are no closer to the Lombardi trophy than the Vikings are. After all that.
    ——————-
Incidentally this is not true. The Packers have four Lombardi trophies on the actual premises of Lambeau Field, whereas the closest Lombardi trophy to Minnesota is…you guessed it, the four in Green Bay.

Therefore the Green Bay Packers are still MUCH closer to the Lombardi trophy than the Vikings.

  94. We Vikings fans have endured a lot these last 2 years. When we got cheated out of the Super Bowl, Packer fans didn’t say anything close to resembling reasonable. They laughed and cheered and said we stink. And we are whiners. They rubbed it in. And then they went on such a lucky streak, displaying such arrogance along the way. Well now it’s time for me to say THANK YOU Packers. Thanks for playing so lousy. Never has a team supposedly that good played so lousy. Score shouldn’t have even been that close. Thank you.

  95. Yeah captaintriumph, you’re right. But it falls right in line with what one team gives the other when one is up and the other is down. The sad thing is, it’s a battle between the consistently choking Minnesota Vikings and the Packers who have caught a very bad case of Minnesotaitis the better part of the last decade. I thought last year the Packers may have cured themselves of it, but alas….

The Packers have arguably the second best REGULAR SEASON team in the NFL the last 11 years (behind the Patriots). And in the playoffs, setting aside last year, the Packers have been horrible in the playoffs, choking badly. I don’t know what is gained by two of the biggest chokingest teams playing dick size with each other. As far as playoffs go, we’re both packing a roll of dimes in our pants.
