Three NFL players have been given $7,500 fines for actions during the divisional round of the playoffs: Broncos linebacker Von Miller, Patriots safety Patrick Chung and Giants safety Kenny Phillips.

Miller won’t be happy about his fine, which came for a late hit against the Patriots. He went on Twitter after Saturday’s game and defended what he had done.

“Was not a cheap shot, hit was totally legal, Play wasn’t over, I could’ve loafed and said game over, but I didn’t,” Miller wrote. “Never quit, never give up.”

Chung was flagged for unnecessary roughness at the end of a Willis McGahee run on Saturday.

Phillips was fined for a hit to the head of a defenseless receiver, but don’t expect him to change the way he hits on Sunday against the 49ers. Phillips told Newsday that during Sunday’s win over the Packers, he could see that Green Bay’s receivers were worried about getting hit, and he wants the 49ers’ receivers to feel the same way.

We definitely want to be physical from the very start of the game,” Phillips said.

Even if it costs him $7,500.
