When Jeff Fisher left the Titans a year ago, there was talk that assistant Dave McGinnis would leave as well. McGinnis ended up staying on as senior assistant coach, but now that Fisher has a new team, McGinnis is ready to join him.
Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that McGinnis is expected to leave the Titans’ staff and join the Rams’ staff, where he would work for Fisher again.
McGinnis spent seven years as the Titans’ linebackers coach under Fisher. His resume also includes four years as the Cardinals’ head coach, five years as the Cardinals’ defensive coordinator and 10 years as the Bears’ linebackers coach.
UPDATE: Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Rams have hired McGinnis, and his title will be assistant head coach.
