The Giants have come across this week like they’re a confident team, with defensive players talking about how they can rattle Tom Brady and offensive players talking about how they can put points on the board.

Giants running back Brandon Jacobs says the Giants are confident. They’re just not too confident.

“I think this team is confident and not overconfident,” Jacobs said. “Cocky is nowhere near the equation. The guys are confident, the coaches are confident.”

Asked why the Giants are so confident this week, Jacobs’ answer is simple: Why shouldn’t they be?

“There’s no reason why,” Jacobs said. “We shouldn’t have gotten on the buses if we weren’t confident. If a guy isn’t confident, they should kick him off and send him back to Jersey.”

There’s no risk of that for anyone on this team.
