The Patriots may be the hated rivals for the Jets and their coach, Rex Ryan, but Ryan says he respects what the franchise has accomplished so much that he thinks Bill Belichick and Tom Brady may go down in history as the best ever at what they do.

Ryan told the Boston Herald that Belichick “might go down in history as the best coach ever.”

Ryan also said that a fourth Super Bowl ring would put Brady above all other passers, at least in terms of the way they elevate their games when it matters most.

“If he wins the Super Bowl it’s hard to say he’s not the best big-game quarterback of all time,” Ryan said.

With the Super Bowl featuring the Giants’ crosstown rivals and their divisional rivals, Ryan said, “One thing I know is that everyone involved in this game is anti-Rex Ryan.”
